For the longest time, I never knew that the temperature of water has an effect on my mood. I woke up feeling tired, sad and even dreading going to work. While the thought of being under cold shower can be scary to many people, research are now supporting that cold shower might be better than coffee in the morning to reboot your system, physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually!

I say, ‘Cold shower first, coffee later.’

So let’s drill down to some of the benefits of cold shower and how to do this in a gentle way.

The benefits of cold shower includes alertness, energizing the mood, stronger immune system, reduced physical pain, spiritually, lowers depression, this is the way for you to overcome your fears and step out of your comfort zone. 

I dread cold water and the moment, I conquer this, I feel I can go out that day and conquer all of my tasks and handle many things that comes my way.

To do this in a gentle way, you can start by putting water in a warm temperature firs then slowly turn it to a cold shower towards the end for at least 2-5 minutes to get the maximum benefits. 

At this point, you might be wondering but it’s winter and it’s COLD, how are we supposed to apply water therapy in this case?

What I found really works is to start with your regular warm shower and seal it with a cold shower for at least 30 seconds. Not only does it boost your metabolism but it helps you to face the cold in a much greater grace.
